Ramblings
To tell you the truth, I'm physically and mentally drained to the point that I'm losing my motivation to do anymore studying and just enter the exam hall with whatever I've kept in my overused brain of mine...
Hmmm... much furore have been made about James Gomez... I don't know... sometimes I feel that the opposition is just being an opposition for the sake of being one. Sometimes, we are so primed by the notion that the government doesn't give us too much political space that we embrace whatever opposition that is available to us. Just so that you guys out there know, motivated cognition is very powerful. If one is motivated to think in a certain way to serve a certain purpose, we will use all sorts of cognitive strategies to confirm our bias.
And seriously, the underlying implications of the Gomez case is that it undermines the processes of the elections and the government as a whole. It may even cast us in a bad light, reducing us back to what MM calls third world politics, and thus third world investments from overseas and third world jobs.
